The 2017 AASAP Board is...

Michelle Ciesielski -  President


Michelle currently serves as the President on AASAP board and as an AASAP representative to the regional SWASAP Board. 

She works at Arkansas State University Beebe on the Heber Springs campus as a Student Development Specialist/Tutor Coordinator with SSS. Michelle is a first generation student and two-time graduate of Missouri State University (B.A. Religious Studies, M.S. Student Affairs in Higher Education).  She has also worked in homeless youth services and campus recreation. Michelle loves to bike, paddle, backpack through the woods, and attempts to grow vegetables in her community garden plot during her free time.

Ronda McLelland -  President-Elect

Ronda currently serves as the President-Elect of the AASAP Board.  Ronda is the Director of TRIO Student Support Services at the University of Arkansas Community College Batesville.  She is an alum of the TRIO SSS program at Ozarka College.  Ronda began her TRIO career as a peer tutor, then after graduating with her B.A. she become the Tutor Coordinator for Ozarka's TRIO program.  Ronda is a graduate of Ozarka College (A.A. General Education), Lyon College (B.A. Early Childhood Education & Psychology), and Walden University (M.S. Educational Psychology).  Ronda and her husband Monte are parents to Michael, Ronnie, Joshua, and Hanna.  She enjoys watching sci-fi movies, reading for fun, and all things Disney!

Jeanette Youngblood - Past-President


Jeanette is currently completing her 5th year on the AASAP Board having served as SWASAP Rep for 2 years, President-Elect, President, and now Past-President.  Jeanette is the Director of APPLE Project Upward Bound at Lyon College.  She has been working in TRIO since 2009 but has worked in higher education since 1999.  Jeanette completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Williams Baptist College, a Masters of Applied Psychology at University of Arkansas-Little Rock, and a Specialist in Community College Teaching at Arkansas State University-Jonesboro.  Jeanette loves to laugh and spends most of her free time with her daughter Savannah.  Together they attend as many sporting events as possible ranging from the local to the collegiate to the professional level.  In addition, Jeanette carves out as much time as she can to lounge with her pets, play board game and read (she even listens to audiobooks while traveling).

Shawna McKenzie - Secretary

Shawna currently serves as the Secretary of the AASAP Board (Term January 2016-December 2017).  Shawna is the Assistant Director of Veterans Upward Bound at Henderson State University-Arkadelphia and has been working with TRIO since October of 2004.  Prior to working with Veterans Upward Bound, she worked as an Education Specialist with the Henderson State University Educational Talent Search Project for ten years.  Shawna is an alumni of Henderson State University where she received both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree.  Shawna served eight years in the United States Army Reserves from 1993-2001.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, helping others and sleeping.

Krandon Henry - 
SWASAP Representative

Krandon currently serves as the SWASAP Representative (Term: January 2017-December 2018). Krandon is an Academic Specialist for TRiO Student Support Services at UA Pine Bluff. Krandon began his TRiO career as a peer tutor during his undergraduate studies, reconnected with TRiO during his graduate studies, and has been full time with TRiO since 2012. He is an alum of UA Pine Bluff (B.S. Biology) and Iowa State University (M.S. Educational Leadership & Policy Studies). Krandon enjoys learning and growing and engages in activities that will foster an environment to do so. Krandon and his wife Denise enjoy playing and watching sports together, playing fantasy football, and playing board games (like Monopoly and Cash Flow). They also enjoy cooking, trading Forex and saving in gold. Krandon & Denise are passionate about helping improve the mindsets and the lives of people! Both are educators, and both serve in ministry.

Daizy Bonilla Andrade - AASAP Representative

Daizy Andrade currently serves as AASAP Representative for the board (Term January 2017-December 2017).  Her life has revolved around TRIO since high school when she joined Upward Bound and later SSS.  She is very proud to be a TRIO alumna and wants to give back to the organization.  In September 2013, Daizy became an Academic Advisor for Educational Talent Search at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville.  She is passionate about helping underrepresented students reach their college goal.  Currently she is working on her Master's in Human Resource and Workforce Development Education at the University of Arkansas and enjoys every bit of it.  She is an avid runner and loves spending time with her friends and family.

Carol Gilley - AASAP Representative

Carol Gilley currently serves as the AASAP Representative for the board (Term January 2017- December 2017). Carol is a Talent Search Counselor from North Arkansas College in Harrison.  She has a BSBA in Accounting from University of Arkansas.  She has been in TRIO Talent Search since 2012.  She has been in higher education since 2008.  Carol and her husband are leaders with the Boy Scouts of America.  She and her family enjoy camping, hiking, floating, and fishing.
